What is it?
Introducing Tabs for a Cause. This started only at the early parts of the decade but I only came across it from reading the comment section of a YouTube video I watched (sometimes, you can find something useful in the comment section other than trolls and wisecrack jokes).
How does it work?
By opening new tabs in your google chrome or mozilla firefox browser, you can earn hearts that you can use to donate for the charity of your choice. Each heart is equivalent to 1/10 to 1/3 of a cent. Sounds like small money but if you compiled that with the thousands of users opening tabs every day, you would be creating a charitable money machine.
How can that create money?
There are a couple banner advertisements in the corner each time you open a New Tab. Tabs for a Cause gets paid for these advertisements, and then give all the profits to charities that partner with them. Tab for a Cause is free to use and always will be.
What are the Charities?
You can donate to charities which you are most passionate about or felt their is lacking in need. These charities are very efficient in their causes so the money will be well spent. To check how a charitable organization is performing, you can go to charitynavigator.org and givewell.org.
